Halal & Shariah Compliance

How are stocks screened?

Asal screens stocks based on business activity and financial ratios using the AAOIFI methodology.

What does the halal filter do?

The Halal Filter helps users identify securities within Asal's AAOIFI-screened Shariah-compliant universe. Regardless of the filter setting, securities outside Asal's approved investment universe are not eligible for purchase or transfer into an Asal client account. Non-compliant securities may be displayed for informational purposes, if applicable, but are not eligible for investment through an Asal account.

Portfolios & Baskets

What is a basket?

Asal Baskets are pre-built thematic groupings of Shariah-screened securities provided for general informational purposes. They are not individualized recommendations and may not be appropriate for every investor. Investments involve risk, including possible loss of principal.

Can I customize a basket?

Custom basket building is planned. Current baskets are pre-built thematic groupings.
